How did you get the gold like that ?
The process was described in the page on the creation of the wand. I engraved the ebony with a flexshaft (powerful rotary engraver), painted in the engravings with red bole for gilding and let that dry, covered it with sizing oil and let it dry just enough until it got sticky, then put on bits of 24k gold leaf and brushed that on smooth. All the supplies were obtained from Amazon or from a very generous friend who got her stuff from Amazon.
